Misti Vazquez, LMT, CNMT – Wu Wei Thai
Loosely translated, wu-wei means "effortless action." Going with the flow. Spontaneous, natural, effortless. Action that flows through us because it is the right action, appropriate to its time and place. Wu-wei provides harmony and balance, which is the central focus of traditional Thai massage. Despite its popular name, traditional Thai massage is not like Western massage. Thai massage combines gentle therapeutic stretching, joint mobilization and deep tissue compression. Sessions are performed on a floor mat, with the client in comfortable, loose clothing. No oils or lotions are used. During the massage, the client’s body is slowly moved and stretched in order to relieve muscle pain and tension, improve circulation and provide greater flexibility and movement. |
