Rebecca Albright, MSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Picture
Rebecca Albright founded TLC for Families in 2004 after 16 years of practice as a clinical social worker in order to better meet the needs of the growing Tri-Lakes community.

She works with a wide range of mental health issues including adult and childhood mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attachment disorders, trauma related to sexual abuse, physical abuse and family of origin issues and loss. She continually works with clients on issues of self-confidence, self-worth and identity, life changes and life stresses.

During her graduate schooling at the University of Chicago, 1986-1988, Rebecca focused primarily on learning family systems therapy, which continues to have a great influence on her practice. As a social worker, she works with clients to develop a treatment plan specifically designed for them. She draws on various treatment philosophies and techniques, such as: cognitive-behavioral interventions, strength and solution based therapies, experiential and narrative models and family of origin work.

After 7 years experience as a treatment coordinator for a residential treatment center, Rebecca decided to focus more on the prevention of mental health issues. She has become a parent educator and child development specialist in order to offer all families necessary resources for developing in healthy and happy ways. She previously facilitated workshops and classes for parents and families and offers parent and family consultation for specific issues and questions.

In 2007, Rebecca completed Basic 1 and 2 in EMDR training.  Adding the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing method to her practice, Rebecca has produced faster and more complete results in healing trauma and anxiety.  In 2019, Rebecca became a Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant in Training.

From 2012-2014, Rebecca taught Clinical Social Work at The University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.

Rebecca regularly supervises graduate student interns and Master's level practitioners seeking licensure.
