BAckground:
During her graduate schooling at the University of Chicago, 1986-1988, Rebecca focused primarily on learning family systems therapy, which continues to have a great influence on her practice. As a social worker, she works with clients to develop a treatment plan specifically designed for them. She draws on various treatment philosophies and techniques, such as: cognitive-behavioral interventions, strength and solution based therapies, experiential and narrative models, family of origin work and EMDR.
After 7 years experience as a treatment coordinator for a residential treatment center, Rebecca decided to focus more on the prevention of mental health issues. She has become a parent educator and child development specialist in order to offer all families necessary resources for developing in healthy and happy ways. She previously facilitated workshops and classes for parents and families and offered parent and family consultation for specific issues and questions.
From 2012-2014, Rebecca taught Clinical Social Work at The University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work.
